Once upon a Rainbow

Marks: none

Made by El Greco approximately between the early 80s and the mid-80s.

The line made in Greece was scarce in number of ponies, but rich in variants. The known sets made there include the 1982 "collector" ponies Snuzzle excluded (counterparts to Blossom, Bluebelle, Butterscotch, Cotton Candy, Lemondrop, Minty, Peachy) along with an
exclusive pony in the same pose ("Chionoula", meaning Snow Flake; a cream yellow pony with pink hair and pink bows as her symbol); the early unicorns and pegasi (Firefly, Medley, Moondancer, Glory, Twilight, Sunbeam), the first set of rainbow ponies (Starshine, Skydancer, Sunlight, Parasol, Windy, Moonstone), the baby ponies, some of which exclusives to this country (Baby Butterscotch, Baby Blossom, Baby Bluebelle, Baby Cotton Candy, Baby Lemondrop, Baby Minty, Baby Peachy, blue Baby Glory, Baby Cuddles as a pegasus and possibly more), plus many variants to them and some extremely rare exclusives, such as the two pink-haired cream sitting ponies (one having a ladybug symbol, the other a cake with candles).

Notes: Greek ponies are poorly manufactured. They are made of cheap, squishy plastic, and because they lack Hasbro marks they may be easily mistaken as fakies by non-experts.
